Happy Birthday, my Beloved Son, Christopher
A Poem by Wendell Berry To The Holy Spirit
O Thou, far off and here, whole and broken
Who in necessity and bounty wait,
Whose truth is light and dark, mute though spoken,
By thy wide grace show me thy narrow gate.”
He comes by sea’s roar
salty foam to sting eyes open
His desire calls us home
to behold windows of goodness
herein lies our daily choices
reflections by design.
Beauty declares the Holy One
A rare flower
A haunting sunset
A frightful tidal wave
These and everything else proclaim His Presence
Such is nature awesome and uncontrollable
His People, can we not declare God’s Glory?

SONG OF DANCE
Like David, the music sways my body to dance, my arms reaching heavenward
Your love, O God, tickles my feet off the ground
My heart soars beating like a drum to the Promised Land
Your grace lifts me higher and higher
Sweeter than good wine, better than gold or diamonds
Moving to and fro full of joy and hope, there’s nothing holding me back
I can flutter and fly like a golden butterfly
Nothing compares to your love
Song of Dance – Only you can satisfy!
Beth Painting by Marsha Hammel
With Time to Ponder Over Four Degrees of Happiness
Joy of Loving and Giving
Wanting Home with God
…while looking into a mirror…
Lady Bug in Pansy
The harp sways my body to dance, my arms stretches heavenward
O God, your love tickles my feet off the ground
My heart beats drums to the Promised Land
Your Grace lifts me higher, sweeter than good wine, better than gold or diamonds
Moving to and fro, there’s nothing holding back, fluttering like a lady bug
Your Love – Song of Dance satisfies!

Inspired by Erasmo Leiva-Merikakis
When in battle with evil, vindication seems the immediate quick solution.
There is a better reaction.
‘By not resisting to evil’ will surprise the adversary and extinguish its evil intent solely by an outpouring of compassion and forgiveness.
That’s called ‘turning the other cheek.’
“In the blink of an eye everything can change,
So, forgive often and love with all your heart.
You may never know when you may not have that chance again.”
