Still Life with Jug by Alexei von Jawlensky 1864-1941

While residing in Germany, I was fortunate to visit museums that contained Expressionistic art like this still life.  Russian born Jawlensky, along with his peers Kandinsky and others, created this Fauvism style at the beginning of the 20th century.  Their radical use of uncommon colors separates them from the earlier French Impressionists.  I love these striking colors perking up ordinary life, thus impels me to write this…
